Since 2001, Guardian Peak SMG is a classic blend of Rhone varieties (the 2020 vintage is a blend of 60% Syrah, 30% Mourvèdre and 10% Grenache) and expresses perfectly how formidable yet uncomplicated this style of wine can be. Bold black fruit and spice are followed by red cherry and raspberry. Notes of rhubarb combine with black pepper and cumin. Tangy acidity balances fine, supple tannins and juicy fruit.
